ONE year old session| Chris + Heidi + Braden

i am so happy that i got to photograph this sweet little one year old! Heidi taught with my mom for awhile and it didn't take long for them to become good friends. My mom was actually Heidi's transportation to the hospital when Braden decided he was ready to make his debut :) What a kind, loving family the Whites' are!

First off--here is a newborn shot of Braden and my Mom a year ago. . .

Jamie + Adam|couple session

what's not to love about these two? their love is on FIRE--literally, and i don't think Adam is looking to put this fire out :)

Jamie is a registered nurse and Adam is a firefighter--i just love that the both of them not only have professions that help people, but SAVE people! Thank you to you both!

We had an awesome morning at our local winery, Prince Michel! never been? you MUST check it out. . . the grounds are not only beautiful but the wine is fantastic!

as i sit down and write blog posts i often have to pinch myself. this is my dream and I AM LIVING IT.

Justin + Bethany + Addy| family session

what a great looking family! Bethany invited me to photograph her beautiful family at her grandparents farm--the property was AMAZING. Addy is such a fun little girl && when a lady bug landed on her daddy's hand during our session her character really started to shine! she opened up to me and we had a blast. . . that was until the rain came :( rain or shine--we still got some great photos!

LOVE-- i love it. i love the feel of it. i love the looks of it. i love to give it. i love to get it. i love to just simply be in the presence of love.

i was so happy to be able to do this special engagement session at their wedding venue, The Inn at Kellys Ford(WOW! what a beautiful place!)-- Mandy & Jonathan share a whole lot of LOVE! they are engaged to be married in June 2013. . they have recently purchased their first home and are right on track to a lifetime of happiness!

megan and i have shared a friendship for fourteen years. . . i couldn't imagine a greater best friend. we've laughed together, we've cried together, and most importantly we've grown together. i'm so very thankful for the relationship we share. a relationship that has grown more in the past year than it has ever before--thank you, Derek Bouldin Lucas.

hi everyone! welcome to the Dana Dodson|photography blog--so great to see you here! please follow me on my journey to make my dreams become reality!


First things first-- WE HAVE A LOGO. who knew that picking out something that will stick with you FOREVER would be so hard and time consuming? is this what parents feel when they find out the sex of their child and OH MY now we have to think of a NAME--a name which will forever be with them? the logo decision was extremely difficult but i am SO satisfied with the outcome.

now, i know what all of you are thinking. . . Dana--you work two jobs, you volunteer for Relay, HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU HAVE TIME FOR PHOTOGRAPHY!? well. . . i just couldn't sit around dreaming anymore. why should i let MY LIFE pass ME by? i WILL do this and i will do it WELL. i know the road won't be easy and it will not come without any bumps, but i am determined to make something of not only myself, but my business. i'm so thankful for my amazing family and friends. . . if you're fortunate enough to know them, you know just how AWESOME they are! but let's not forget about my rock, the rock that has been there for the past eight years of my life. . . Frankie Lee, the voice of JUST DO IT. so folks, here i am. . DOING IT!
